About the event
Step outside the classroom into our unique environment where experiential learning will leave a lasting impact with irrefutable results. At EmPower U Equine the teachers are 1200 pound horses that will make children slow down and listen clearly to what they are saying. In the busy schedules children maintain and the pressures they often feel, we offer a space where judgement does not exist because our horses are only capable of living in the moment. They will teach children how to be present in their lives and help to develop essential life skills to empower them for success and to be the leader of their life.
Our six week program will guide the children through a series of educationally designed exercises that focus on building relationships, making good choices, communication, trust, teamwork and negotiation. There is no need for the children to have experience with horses, we don't ride the horses in EAL. Our trained and Certified Facilitators make safety their priority and will ensure that the children are taught safe handling practices with the horses. Our small group sizes of 12 children ensure that there is one Facilitator to four children. Our Facilitators are fully insured, trained in CPR and First Aid and hold valid criminal record and vulnerable sector checks.
When the children arrive at the arena they will be met by one of our Facilitators and guided to our indoor classroom. We begin every session explaining what we are focusing on that day, then take it into the arena and back again to the classroom to debrief the lesson learned. All equipment and supplies are provided by our facility, and the only thing that is needed for the children is proper closed toed shoes or boots and to dress appropriately for the weather that day. Our indoor arena makes sure that we are out of the elements, and offers a viewing area for parents or caregivers.
We are only accepting 12 children in this program ages eight years and up. Contact us today to secure your child's spot or for more information on this wonderful opportunity to help boost your child's self-confidence and self-esteem in a unique and memorable way.
